How the matchmaker works

You answer seven questions

Firm size, your work mix, the task that drains the most time, how repetitive that work is, your general ledger, budget, and where you operate. Questions move on as you tap, and there is no sign-up.

We score every AI tool in the directory

Each tool carries published specs we maintain (firm-size fit, ledger compatibility, geographic coverage, price tier, what it actually does). The scoring weights are listed on the methodology page.

You see the top 5, with reasons

Each match shows a percentage score, the specific reasons it fits, and a deep link to the full tool page. No filler. Every recommendation is something you could realistically buy this week.

Frequently asked questions

How does the matchmaker pick my matches?
A rule-based scoring engine, not AI. Every tool in the directory has structured specs we maintain (firm-size fit, ledger compatibility, work-area specialisation, geographic coverage, price tier). Your seven answers are scored against those specs with weights listed on the methodology page (firm size 22, work area 18, ledger 18, budget 12, pain point 20, automation fit 10, geography as a hard pre-filter). Tools that score below 40 do not appear, even if they would be your 'least bad' option.
Do I have to give my email to see results?
No. Results appear immediately on the next page. Email capture only happens after, with two optional CTAs: send the comparison to your inbox so you can share it with your team, or sign up for the CurateSuite Weekly newsletter. Both are opt-in. The quiz works fully without either.
What if I'm not sure how to answer a question?
Pick the closest fit and move on. No question requires an exact answer. The scoring is robust to a slightly wrong input on any single question because it averages across all seven. If you genuinely do not know your firm's general ledger or your monthly budget for software, pick the most generic option.
How accurate are the results?
The matches are based on published vendor specs and our editorial categorisation, not on hands-on testing. We do not run trials of every tool and we do not claim 'tested' or 'vetted' anywhere on the site. The matchmaker tells you which tools are worth a serious look given your firm's shape. The actual buying decision still needs a 30-minute demo and a real conversation with the vendor.
What if no tool scores well for my firm?
It happens. If fewer than three tools clear the 40-point floor, the results page shows a 'no strong matches' state with a short explanation rather than padding the list with weak picks. The most common reason is geographic mismatch: several leading tools are US-only or UK-only. The next most common is firm size, where some enterprise audit and compliance tools are designed around teams of 50 plus.
