Abacor
AI assistant purpose-built for accounting firms, by accountants.
Overview
Abacor is an AI assistant purpose-built for accounting firms, launched out of stealth in October 2025 after 14 months of stealth development. It joins meetings on Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, captures in-person conversations through the same surface, generates one-click pre-meeting agendas, transcribes the call with accounting-specific language tuning, and drafts notes, action items, and follow-up emails in the accountant's voice.
Three things separate it from generic notetakers like Otter, Fireflies, Read AI, and Granola: accounting vocabulary fluency (the company quotes 99.5 percent accuracy on debits and credits), practice-management write-back rather than generic CRM dumps, and a workflow shaped around the 50 minutes the founders say accountants spend on prep and follow-up per client meeting.
Practice-management integration coverage is the broadest in the accountant-specific meeting AI category. Karbon, Canopy, TaxDome, Financial Cents, FYI Docs, IRIS, and Xero Practice Manager are all listed publicly. The Karbon integration page on karbonhq.com confirms bidirectional contact import and automatic timeline write-back of notes, transcripts, and action items. Vinyl and Ping Assistant cover fewer practice-management systems publicly.
Pricing is custom and demo-gated. The pricing URL on abacor.com returns 404 today. The LinkedIn launch post mentioned "something special for our next 100 customers" through a landing page, suggesting early-customer pricing is negotiated rather than published. There is no published free tier and free-trial availability is not advertised on the homepage.
Founders are David Lam (ex-Deloitte, Crowe, PwC, Amazon, Gusto) and Ying Xu (ex-Microsoft, Stripe, Wholesail). The launch messaging explicitly courts "the world's largest and most modern accounting firms across 5+ countries". Larger-firm pedigree shows up in the integration list (FYI Docs and IRIS in particular) and in the in-person meetings capture surface. Funding has not been publicly disclosed.
VoIP integration is not advertised in any public source. The integration list is Zoom, Meet, Teams plus in-person, with no Aircall, RingCentral, or Dialpad. Firms that want phone calls captured as a primary surface should pick Ping Assistant instead. For firms standardised on Zoom or Teams plus in-person work, Abacor's PM integration depth makes it the strongest fit. Geography is global in principle, with the US as the obvious primary market and 5 or more countries claimed in launch coverage.
