Seamlss
Client onboarding and identity verification built for Australian accounting firms.
Overview
Seamlss is the only onboarding platform that handles ATO Agent Linking, engagement letters, digital signatures, and identity verification in a single browser-based flow built specifically for Australian accounting, tax, and bookkeeping firms. It brings client onboarding, engagement letter delivery, digital signature collection, and identity verification into a single flow so firms can take on new clients without the usual paperwork bottleneck.
The tool works with Xero Practice Manager as a connected app, pulling client data and syncing job creation automatically. Engagement letter templates are customisable, and clients sign directly in the browser with no portal login required. Identity verification runs through Seamlss source documents or Stripe Identity with Document Verification Service (DVS) access; each DVS check is billed at a flat per-check rate on top of the subscription.
Seamlss also handles ATO Agent Linking, the Australian Tax Office process that accounting firms must complete when taking authority over a client's tax account. Re-engagement tools let firms bulk-send updated letters or reverification requests to existing clients. Ethical clearance requests to the previous accountant are also automated.
Pricing is in Australian dollars. All plans include unlimited clients and users, which makes per-head costs predictable as the firm grows. A 14-day unlimited free trial is available with no credit card required. Seamlss is a Xero Connected App and an AWS-hosted platform with bank-level encryption and two-factor authentication.
Note: Seamlss is built around Australian regulatory requirements (ATO, DVS). It is not suited to firms outside Australia.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- Australian accounting, tax, and bookkeeping firms that handle ATO Agent Linking on every new client.
- Practices on Xero Practice Manager that want client onboarding tied directly to job creation.
- Firms that need ID verification through DVS-aware identity checks built into the engagement flow.
Cons
- Firms outside Australia. Seamlss is built around ATO and DVS regulatory requirements.
- Practices that already run identity checks elsewhere and want a generic e-signature tool only.
- Solo practitioners with a handful of clients. The flat tiers suit a steady onboarding pipeline better.
